Not going “down the shore” for the holiday? Looking for something to do before your Monday Memorial Day barbecue plans? Here’s a few events in Philly that you can check out over the weekend!
Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest Opening Weekend
Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest kicks off this weekend. DJ Jazzy Jeff will be spinning tunes from 9pm to 11pm. Summer cocktails, craft beer, Chickie’s and Pete’s Waterfront Crabshack and the delicious Franklin Fountain will be on site to name a few. Open skate begins at 11am with festivities ending at 11pm Friday through Sunday.
Spruce Street Harbor Park
11am – 11pm
After you check out Blue Cross RiverRink, take a stroll down to Spruce Street Harbor Park. Returning for a third year, this popular pop-up will invite its visitors to enjoy dinner on its floating restaurant, refresh with an ice cold drink from the beer garden, and hang out in one of their highly sought after hammocks. Ping pong, shuffleboard and other interactive games make visiting the park great for a family outing. If you can’t make it this weekend, you’ll have until September to check it out. 11am – 4pm
Fishtown Bikes-n-Beans will be hosting an outdoor event, El Flea, featuring an array of vendors. From 11am to 4pm, there will be arts and crafts, face painting, an optional bike ride (12pm to 1pm), free coffee, and a variety of food trucks serving brazilian cuisine (vegetarian options available). Music provided by DJ Femi Oluwafemi along with an Afro Brazilian percussion band and a Latin Dance flash mob appearance.
Franklin Flea Market

11am – 6pm
Reading Terminal Market will feature handmade and antique items from dozens of vendors this Saturday. Stock up on some vintage knick knacks while indulging in one of the many delicious food options the market offers daily!
The Mann and The Philly POPS Present: Memorial Salute

The Mann and the POPS will be presenting Memorial Day Salute, a concert honoring the American tradition of service this Saturday. Complimentary tickets will be given to 2,000 veterans, active military, Philadelphia police and fire departments along with their families in celebration of all those who serve.
Low cost tickets are additionally available undercover in the pavilion or on the lawn. Guests who opt for lawn tickets are allowed to bring blankets and picnic dinners. Tickets and more details are available in the link above.
NeedLove Records Fundraiser Vinyl Brunch
11am – 3pm
Do you love Philly’s amazing music scene? Would you donate to a local record label if you knew how to? If you said “yes” to either of those questions, then you should check out Prohibition Taproom who will be hosting a fundraiser this Sunday for NeedLove Records. Jordan Kaplan and Colly Holloway, members of the local Philly band Needlepoints, founded NeedLove Records whose mission is to introduce new bands and artists, guide local musicians, and help change the record industry for the better.
The fundraiser will feature good music, food, and vibes. You can hang with Jordan and Colly, enjoy a lovely brunch, and listen to records that inspire them. Prohibition is offering 10% off sales to their Kickstarter Campaign during the event. For a 10% discount on your brunch, bring a record to be played!
Moshulu Boat Party

Moshulu is hosting a boat party this Sunday night featuring a DJ spinning Top 40 throwback 90’s hip hop jams. Doors open at 9pm. $5 cover at the door and no dress code required. Turn your Sunday night into a Saturday!
