Restaurants, Bars & Nightlife
This is another great South Philadelphia food neighborhood. Some neighborhood favorites are Fond, Will, Laurel, Noord, Stogie Joe’s, Mamma Maria’s, Mr. Martino’s Trattoria, Salt & Pepper, Paradiso, Izumi & Chiarella’s who was recently visited by the oh so scary Gordon Ramsey . A great spot for a drink or to sit outside & eat is Cantina Los Caballitos. Their happy hour special is amazing & the outdoor seating area is huge! A Center City favorite, Capogiro, calls this neighborhood home. There are also a variety of pizza shops, deli’s & cafe’s.
Conveniently located near all the grocer’s in Passyunk Square, E. Passyunk Crossing has smaller neighborhood spots. A food critic favorite is the Green Aisle Grocery. Prepared foods from local restaurants, local milk & cheese plus fancy little items you didn’t know you needed but obviously want.

Parking & Public Transportation
South Philadelphia has great public transportation options. There are two subway stops on Broad Street; the Tasker/Morris & Synder. The 23 bus runs 24 hours a day up & down 11th & 12th. It can take you down to Oregon Ave., through Center City to North Philadelphia & all the way down Germantown Ave. to Chestnut Hill should you want to make a day trip without your vehicle. As this is a typical South Philadelphia neighborhood with tight streets & limited parking options the boom in businesses has been a rough transition for residents of the neighborhood. Through neighborhood & civic involvement they came up with a weekend solution. ParkOps offers valet options on Passyunk Ave. on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights. It is $8 with restaurant validation & $15 without validation. There are two stands: one is located at the Singing Fountain at 11th & Tasker & the other is located in front of El Zarape at 1648 E. Passyunk Avenue.
